QUESTION: At this point in time, the USDOL employees claim they are processing 200 claims per week. Can the employees prove they have/are processing 200 claims per week?
EXCERPT: “The Department of Labor has definitely improved things.
Peter Turcic, director of the compensation program, says the
agency's ‘real concern is that we know people have been waiting
a long time. We are putting out hundreds of claims each week.’ ”
(August 2005)
Previous Turcic interview: “The Department of Labor program
covering radiation-induced cancers also has been slow to start,
but Turcic told skeptics Thursday that the goal is to start
figuring the radiation doses of 200 applicants a week.”

QUESTION: Who was responsible for designating the previous USDOL’s August 7, 2005, 15,026* compensated claims statistic? And, October 12, 2005, the compensated claims statistic is 15,972 — a difference of 946 compensated claims in two months; or 473 completed claims were “churned out” each month.
And/or, August 7, 2005, USDOL designated 15,026* compensated worker claims. October 12, 2005, USDOL reflected 12,236 approved worker claims. How is it possible that there is difference of 2,790 less in October 2005 as compared to the August 7, 2005 designation?
